Construction Labourer | No Experience Required

Balfour Beatty is one of the biggest construction and infrastructure company, they build roads, railways, hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings across the country. Right now their Birmingham team needs Labourers for active construction sites across the city.

The work is outdoors and physical. You will be on a building site every day helping the crew get the job done. No formal qualifications needed. If you are fit, reliable, and willing to work hard, Balfour Beatty wants to hear from you.

Job Role:

• Move building materials around the site by hand and using basic equipment
• Dig trenches, clear rubble, and prepare ground for construction work
• Set up and take down site fencing, barriers, and temporary structures
• Help skilled trades like bricklayers, joiners, and electricians with their work
• Load and unload delivery vehicles when materials arrive on site
• Keep the site tidy and clear of hazards throughout the day
• Follow all site safety rules without exception — PPE must be worn at all times
• Report any unsafe conditions or near misses to your site supervisor straight away

Pay and Hours

• £13.00 – £16.00 per hour based on experience and CSCS card status
• Full time: 45 to 50 hours per week
• Monday to Friday with some Saturday work on busy projects
• Early starts — most sites begin at 7am
• Weekly pay
• Overtime pay available during busy project phases

Do I need a CSCS card before I apply?

Not necessarily. As projects progress you may move between different Birmingham sites. You will always be given advance notice of any site changes.

Is there shelter on site during bad weather?
Construction work continues in most weather conditions. Site welfare facilities including cabins and canteens are provided on all Balfour Beatty sites.
